Description
The People Business Partner is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management. The position serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues.  The successful Business Partner acts as an employee champion and change agent. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs. The Business Partner seeks to develop integrated solutions, communicating needs proactively within the HR department and business management. The position formulates partnerships across the company to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives and values of the organization. 

What You'll Do:
  • Work with the VP to lead the executive team and managers in staffing their teams for growth.
  • Support management by providing HR advice, counseling, and decisions.
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the senior business leadership to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Responsible for managing NES recruiting cycle.
  • Keep records of turnover and time to hire.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor the onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with the legal department as needed/required.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Develop, implements, and administers HR policies, processes, and practices as necessary for the good of the organization and its goals.
  • Provide guidance and input on business unit restructuring, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Identify training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
  • Curate the curriculum for Training Tuesdays and conduct trainings throughout the year.
  • Participate in evaluation, creation, and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follow up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Work with the VP on Benefits Design, and be able to assist with benefits administration as needed.
  • Develop and manage employee activities that reinforce company values and contributes to employee engagement.
  • Drive the company culture ensuring the values are reinforced and upheld.


What You'll Need:
  • Minimum of 3-5 plus years' experience in multiple HR disciplines and increasing responsibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or related field.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including staffing, recruiting, compensation practices, organizational diagnosis and development, employee relations, diversity, performance management, training and development, and federal and state employment laws.
  • Experience with HRIS software, such as Paychex Flex.
  • Experience with ATS software, such as Pinpoint.
  • Understanding of federal and state employment regulations.
  • Understanding of personnel and compliance records management.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint).


Bonus Points:
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment.
  • Experience with OSHA regulations and compliance.
  • Experience with Procore or similar construction management software.
  • Experience administering payroll and benefits.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
