Description
We are searching for our next dynamicPresident/CEO who is excited about leading Peirone Produce Company into new business opportunities. As a wholly owned subsidiary of parent Company URM Stores, Inc, this position reports directly to the CEO of URM Stores, Inc.

As the President/CEO, your primary responsibilities include:

  • Furthering the Company by setting a "customer first" culture and providing top-quality produce & floral products that are competitively priced for the member stores we serve.
  • Possessing the skills and business acumen to protect the company's current market share, and drive future revenue growth.
  • Successfully developing effective strategies centered on leadership, an efficient supply chain, , and industry trends that will result in driving retail sales for our customers.
  • Collaborating with peers on a regular basis to establish best practices and identify industry innovation.
  • Leading by example the guiding Peirone principles and culture of customer service and operational excellence.
  • Collaboratively developing annual company budgets and supporting company objectives.
  • Prioritizing, developing and maintaining existing customer relationships.
  • Monitoring and reacting as appropriate to company key operating metrics.
  • Creating a market advantage by fostering genuine working relationships with the farmers, growers. brokers and manufacturers the Company chooses to do business with.
  • Build and support internal team that will support all channels of business-Food Service, Retail, and Wholesale
  • Reviewing, monitoring, understanding and reacting to the Company's Profit & Loss statements.
  • Creating a culture of continuous process improvement to meet the needs of Company operations and customer needs.
  • Presenting results and operational goals to the Board of Directors each quarter.
Our Ideal Candidate Requirements:
  • A minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in purchasing, marketing, and selling fresh produce (wholesale and/or retail) required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience leading a sales function in a produce environment required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in business or management, or a combination of education and Director-Level (or above) industry experience.
  • A strong working knowledge of the produce industry required.
  • Naturally innovative-always looking to find a "better way."
  • Excellent communicator with internal employees and external partners and customers.
  • A background with warehouse management systems and food safety regulations and compliance.
  • Experience in strategic planning, execution, and logistics of fresh produce and other cold storage.
  • The ability to develop financial plans, interpret financial data, and understand general accounting procedures.
  • A successful working knowledge of leadership, communication, and public relations techniques to interact with a variety of people.
  • A proven ability to motivate teams and associates towards successful goal accomplishment.
  • The ability to manage several projects at one time.
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining long-term relationships with partnering organizations and customers.
  • Decisiveness and willingness to take well-reasoned risks.
  • Tech savvy with various programs including MS Office.
