Normal Working Hours/Days: Monday-Friday 8 am - 4 pm
JBS is currently seeking applicants who are interested in assisting the Peer Services Coordinator . This is a supervisory position that will help establish and implement new peer driven programs, curriculum, training opportunities, community outreach and other special projects. This position will require lived experience with mental illness or serious emotional disturbances and the ability to share your recovery story.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
Help build positive relationships within the peer services team
Represent peers on committees at the local, state, and national level.
Serve as liaison with community mental health centers, other JBS programs, Department of Mental Health staff, and other service providers to promote peer services and other recovery oriented services.
Attend regularly scheduled meetings of the Peer Service Provider Supervisor and Peer Service Providers.
Participate in one on one meetings with the supervisor to discuss ideas, difficulties, suggestions, and expectations.
Provide accurate documentation as stipulated by program demands
Provide training and administrative coordination as required for billing within the electronic medical records
Other tasks as requested by Supervisor, Clinical Director and Executive Director.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Must have lived experience with a mental illness or a serious emotional disturbance.
Must have Certified Peer Specialist certification.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Have experience with mental illness that closely resembles the experience of the individuals we serve.
Must be dependable.
Must be teachable and honest.
Must be a good role model and be in active recovery for their own mental illness.
Must have a personal vehicle readily available to you.
Must be energetic and passionate.
Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written
Be open to job requirements and have the ability to facilitate groups and activities.
Be flexible, adaptable, integrative, and creative
