RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS
- Must self-identify as an individual with a serious mental illness, who is currently or formerly was a recipient of mental health services, is in the process of his/her/their recovery and has successfully completed training in illness management recovery interventions.
- High School Diploma or Equivalency
- Current certification as a Certified Peer Specialist(or will obtain within twelve months of hire).
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to drive an organization vehicle.
- Act 33/34/73 Clearance (Criminal/Child/FBI Department of Human Services)
- Pre-Employment Drug Screen
- Child Protective Services Law Training (CPSL)
WORK SCHEDULE: This is a non-exempt/hourly position; primarily
Monday-Fridays daylight with flexibility to meet consumer needs. Some non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends and holidays) are rotated, as part of a team.

ABOUT THE ROLE
- As a member of the Enhanced Clinical Service Coordination, the Peer Support Specialist consists primarily of duties requiring advanced knowledge of behavioral health, substance use and its effects. This position is designed to exercise discretion and independent judgment in providing clinical treatment services to the targeted populations.
- The ECSC Peer Support Specialist: must be able to act and respond appropriately and independently, using obtained experience and education, in sometimes unpredictable situations, in managing aspects of the client's care.
- ECSC serves adults with serious mental illnesses that are complex and have effects on functioning.
- ECSC services merge clinical, rehabilitative and support staff expertise within a multidisciplinary team that includes a psychiatrist, nurses, mental health professionals, and a variety of specialists.
- The team is mobile and delivers services in community locations to enable each consumer to find and live in their own residence and work on individual recovery goals.
