Job Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Pediatric Intensivist Medical Director to lead our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of pediatric critical care services at our facility. As the Medical Director, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, overseeing the delivery of care, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of care for our pediatric patients.
Job Details:
- Staffing Model: 2 Pediatric Intensivists to evenly share rounding & call coverage
- Schedule: flexible call schedule
- In-house during the day
- Call from home at night
- Cover Pediatric floor, PICU, & consults from ER
- 14-bed pediatric unit
- 2022 Peds/PICU Admission/Census Data:
- 518 Admissions
- ADC: 6
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Excellence:
- Provide expert medical care to pediatric patients in the PICU.
- Lead and participate in patient rounds, consultations, and care planning.
- Collaborate with pediatric subspecialists and healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes.
- Medical Leadership:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for medical staff within the PICU.
- Develop and implement clinical protocols, guidelines, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development among medical staff.
- Administrative Duties:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the PICU, including staffing and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.
- Collaborate with hospital administration on strategic planning and budget management for the PICU.
Qualifications:
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.
- Current and unrestricted medical license in the state of Arizona.
- Strong clinical acumen and a commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dedication to fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Experience in quality improvement and healthcare administration is a plus.
