POSITION SUMMARY:

Sign-on bonus starting at $6,000!

UW Health Northern IL is seeking a highly skilled pediatric Physical Therapist (PT) for our pediatric clinic. Our PTs works with a dynamic interdisciplinary team including occupational and speech language pathologists. We serve clients ages birth to 16 that range from standard orthopedic to medically complex. The perfect candidate would possess the desire to collectively work with the patient, their support system and the therapy team to assist with improved quality of life for our patients.

Plans, evaluate and administers physical therapy services and care to patients per physician’s orders. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as, Health System initiatives.  Coordinates family involvement in assessment and treatment of the patient.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (or foreign equivalent as determined by the State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulation).  Participates in educational programs on an ongoing basis and complete mandatory CEUs as required.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

Current license from the State of Illinois or in the process of acquiring licensure.  An applicant for employment as a physical, occupational, or speech therapists must present acceptable evidence of licensure or authorization to test at the time of employment.  An applicant who fails to provide this documentation will not be hired.  A new employee will not be allowed to work as a therapist or assistant until evidence of licensure eligibility is provided.  CPR certification required.

 

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Successful completion of annual clinical, age and job specific competencies and skill verification tools required.  Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing in a caring, considerate and concerned manner.  Willingness to accept responsibility.  Ability to direct ancillary staff and organize work assignments.  Leadership skills essential to the position. Must be skilled in a broad range of modalities with a clear understanding of indications and contraindicating of each. Familiar with the indications and use of equipment. Guides, teaches, and supervises students.
