Join an established, outstanding program providing treatment to children with skin conditions ranging from common newborn and childhood rashes, eczema, acne and birthmarks to complex inherited skin diseases. Practice at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital and Clinics – our award-winning academic hospital is home to more than 50 pediatric specialties.
Practice independently on a collaborative, well-established team that consists of board-certified Pediatric Dermatologists, RNs and the broader interdisciplinary team
  • The APP engages in independent decision making about health care needs and provides health care services to individuals. The APP obtains patient histories, performs physical and psychological health assessments, provides medical management, patient and family education and counseling, and ensures continuity of health care services for pediatric, adolescent and young adult patients with dermatology concerns.
  • Provide Pediatric Dermatology care in an outpatient setting at M Health Fairview Pediatric Specialty Clinics.
  • Practice in our Center for Pediatric Vascular Lesions. This is an interdisciplinary clinic with experts in hematology and oncology, interventional radiology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, pediatric surgery, and plastic surgery. With these specialists, we work to create a unified approach to care for these challenging congenital vascular malformations.
  • Practice in a center for blistering diseases, support patients with inherited forms of epidermolysis bullosa in a multidisciplinary clinic
  • Procedures performed: Skin biopsies (tangential and punch), injections for warts and alopecia, application of topical treatments such as cantharidin for molluscum contagiosum, use of liquid nitrogen for wart treatment.
Schedule
  • Daytime Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
  • No call responsibilities currently
  • Full time: 1.0 FTE
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and formal Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner or PA training program.
  • Current MN RN license and be approved or eligible by the Minnesota Board of Nursing for prescription writing privileges.
  • Must be certified through ANCC, AANP, PNCB or NCCPA.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
