The Senior Project Engineer I is responsible for leading the design team to manage and coordinate the technical deliverables required including supporting discipline engineering as well as managing the basic engineering for the project.
Essential Functions
• Actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.”

• Develops the conceptual and basic engineering documents including the system layout, general arrangements, design criteria, PFD and major equipment specifications.
• Manages the development of the overall system design including assuring that the proper sequence of engineering is followed for the projects.
• Serves as primary technical contact with the client on the project and will periodically serve as the overall project manager on smaller projects.
• Oversees that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals and procedures.
• Oversees that the project is constructed and documented in accordance with the contract documents and good engineering practices.
• Provides technical support to Project Managers.
• Coordinates and monitors schedule updates and submittals.
• Assists in managing and reviewing the progress of contractors’ construction schedules.
• Reviews weekly and monthly reports on the status and progress of the contracts, including project costs and potential changes.
• Works with the project delivery team to deliver a quality product as well as maintain schedule and achieve overall project success for the project and client.
• Ensures COA and individual discipline licensure requirements are met.
• Works in conjunction with the PM to manage and communicate client expectations within terms of contract.
• Holds regular project meetings with the Project Design Lead and Discipline Engineering Leads to determine progress and information required to maintain schedule.
• Reports the status of projects to the Project Engineering Chief and the Director of Engineering.
• Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science in any engineering discipline from ABET accredited university required.
• 6+ years of experience leading multiple disciplines including mechanical, structural, electrical and control systems.
• Strong management skills with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
