Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant/Medical Assistant
Location: Geneva, Illinois
Status: Full-Time (Four 10 Hour Shifts)
Days/Hours: Days/Evenings, Monday - Friday
Salary Range (based on experience): $20 - $24/Hour

Summary
Responsible to provide administrative and clinical assistance including patient preparation and pre-screening, equipment preparation and performing patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Verify patient information by name and birthdate.
- Greets and brings patients back into pre-op; guides patient to change into a gown.
- Prepare patient for surgery by performing preliminary physical tests including taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, obtains specimens, blood sugars, PT/INR, and accurately records data.
- Brings equipment to the post-op labeled with patient identifiers; reports to RN any significant information.
- Assists with emergency situations, when needed.
- Monitors PACU throughout the day for needed assistance; provides nutritional snacks to patients and restocks, as needed; removes IV's when instructed; assists with patients' dressing, when needed; and escorts patients to their vehicles.
- Maintain adequate supplies in pre-op and post-op bays.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
- Performs quality control checks with equipment.
- Records temperature control of blanket warmers and supply room; ensure equipment is in good working order; and works effectively and efficiently.
- Implements safe practices and evaluation of environment of care including fire prevention, infection prevention, and emergency preparedness.
- Attend departmental meetings as required.
Education and/or Experience
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) plus years of Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA) experience in a health care setting.
- Ability to interact with patients, physicians and co-workers.
- BLS certification.
