Job Description
Provide full technical support of Personnel Computers (Hardware & Software) and their peripherals including product evaluation, installation, and repair. Assist with the Network functions and provide day-to-day operational user support of the Tribal Networks including user setup, remote support, internet access, and e-mail. Provide technical help desk functions for PC and Network operations.
JOB DUTIES:
1. Identify and initiate resolutions to user problems and concerns associated with office automation equipment, hardware and software to the users satisfaction.
2. Plan and coordinate the purchase, installation and implementation of office automation hardware and software according to department standards and procedures.
3. Provide help desk support to organization.
4. Maintain software and hardware registration and inventory to provide upgrades as necessary and ensure appropriate security levels are maintained.
5. Act as primary interface with equipment vendors and contractors for resolving problems.
6. Provide network support for daily operations.
7. Uphold the enterprise policy guidelines and OIS standards as well as recommend new and improved guidelines and standards to ensure compatibility and better service enterprise users of personal computers and networks.
8. Maintain current technical expertise in the rapidly changing technology of microcomputers, networking, and data communications and utilizes state of the art techniques when implementing office automaton solutions.
9. Prepare weekly status reports quantitatively reporting results of technical supportive activities.
10. Maintain a positive working relationship with all organizational departments to optimize working relationships and communication.
11. Fulfill department requirements in terms of providing work coverage and administrative notification during periods of personal illness, vacation, and education.

Requirements
Associates and or Bachelors degree in computer science, business administration, or related field is preferred. Minimum 3 years as a PC technician and one year of network support. Certifications such as A+ Certification and Novells CNA can be used in place of 1-year experience. Good working knowledge of the Windows operating system, Windows Registry, PC memory management, PC diagnostic tools, and software installation procedures. Fundamentals of networks and data communications including an operational knowledge of Microsoft NT/2000 and Novell. Skilled at using hand tools and instruments for PC repair, electronic diagnostics, and LAN cabling. Responsible for the overall coordination, control, maintenance, and administration of PCs within the organization to ensure compatibility and integration. Identify and initiate solutions associated with office automation equipment, hardware, and software. Includes PC system configuration, security, evaluation, monitoring, upgrades, fine-tuning, maintenance, system recovery, data recovery, and usage reporting. Maintain hardware inventory, tracking, and warranty information. Provide operations support for the organizations networks and backup support for network administration. Able to lift and move objects up to 45lbs and use a personal vehicle on the job. Work in stressful situations. Provide oversight and direction to contractors. On occasion may provide supervision to 1-2 PC Technicians. Provide training and direction to Site Coordinators.

Customer and OIS Staff satisfaction rating is 75% or better. Conform and contribute to the policies, standards, and practices of IS branch. All users requests recorded as a Work Order. Users request responded to within 4 working hours. All service requests completed within 5 working days or reported to IS director. No unauthorized access to tribal networks. All records, contracts, and inventories are current, up to date and accessible.
