Peoplelink is partnered with a busy, well-established Automotive Company located in Ligonier, IN in finding an experienced HR Generalist with Payroll experience. This facility is the leading designer in automotive fluid technology, designing and manufacturing a wide range of products designed to move fluid throughout the vehicle.
Responsibilities of HR Generalist/Payroll Position:
- Process the hourly payroll including calculation, printing, and posting to the ledger.
- Assist with daily, monthly, and year-end processing.
- Serve as resident expert for all plant payroll inquiries.
- Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
- Assist with HRIS reporting and data analysis as needed.
- Assist the HR management team with compliance activities including defining policies and procedures.
- Maintain all necessary records and files to support review and audit.
- Provide advice and assistance to employees and managers on HR policies, programs, and procedures.
- Resolve HR inquiries or escalate to the appropriate individual depending on severity.
- Apply fundamental business and HR concepts to assignments and carry out the company’s HR policies, programs, plans, practices, and procedures.
- Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding process.
- Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.
Skill Requirements:
- HRIS experience preferred.
- Attention to detail is critical in this role; excellent proofreading skills.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Apply fundamental business and HR concepts to assignments
- Self-directed with a high degree of self-motivation.
- Gather and coordinate basic information using established procedures.
- Proficient computer skills and abilities with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills and abilities with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc). UltiPro and AOD experience are a plus.
- Ability to work with highly confidential information.
- Knowledgeable with a variety of finance concepts and practices related to payroll.
- Strong customer service/interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Self-directed with a high degree of self-self-motivation motivation.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Preferred
- 5 or more years of experience in Human Resources and Payroll
- Broad technical knowledge of the laws and regulations surrounding human resources with excellent human relations and people-sensitive skills.
