The Payroll/Benefits Administrator is responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day Human Resources operations including, administering the organizations payroll system to include establishing new hire account and deactivate separated accounts. You will provide training for all employees on correct use of the payroll system and work with the vendor on system issues. You will ensure the accurate and timely application of all benefits (Health, Dental, Vision, 401(k) administration, etc.) and payroll is processed on time.
Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality in regard to information contained in both HR and Payroll. Must be able to follow all laws and procedures in regard to both the financial institution and Human Resources. Must maintain the highest level of conduct in relation to all policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for administering payroll system.
Responsible for monthly balancing of all benefit invoices and payroll.
Communicate with managers to resolve issues with payroll.
Ensure all timecards are approved by the deadline.
Works with outsource payroll vender to see payroll information is processed appropriately.
Reconcile payroll records with approved timecards.
Train managers and staff on correct use of payroll system.
Responsible for researching and performing any follow up procedures necessary to handling of the documentation of payroll to ensure accuracy which includes proper retention of documents supporting payroll transactions and proper approval.
Ensure new employees are properly enrolled in various benefit programs (medical, dental, vision, life, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, and 401k) and all changes for existing employees are updated in a timely manner.
Works with managers in the interview process.
Manages time system and reports for all benefits payable by CBK under the electronic time keeping system such as Sick, Vacation, Bereavement
Reviews and approves entries from payroll to the general ledger and approves year end payroll for W-2 Processing once balancing is complete.
Reviews and approves for processing employee time reports for accuracy including overtime, incentives, sales commissions or incentive bonus payments in accordance with all applicable laws and approved incentive plans.
Prepares monthly FTE and accrual General Ledger entries.
Responsible for the reconcilement of quarterly and annual tax reporting of employee wages to IRS, state, and local authorities.
Responsible for developing and maintaining employee data base which provides information sufficient to meet all federal, state and management reporting requirements.
Administer the bank's personnel policies, practices, and programs in cooperation with the SVP/Human Resources.
Plans and schedules new employee benefit enrollment.
Keeps record of 401(k) during employees work life and files terminated information for 401(k) retrieval.
Special projects as needed.
Assists with the annual open renewal for benefits.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A.A.) in Accounting/Business Administration or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; two to four years of benefits and payroll processing experience and/or training. HR administrative knowledge preferred.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Knowledge of Excel, Power point, Word, Access, Outlook, HR IS, Payroll
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as policy and/or procedure manuals. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with employees of organization or with outside service providers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as commissions and percentages. Ability to apply concepts such as percentages to practical situations. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Must be able to read, interpret and apply.
