We are a leading payroll software company looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Payroll Tax Specialist to join our team. As a Payroll Tax Specialist, you will play a crucial role in onboarding and training new clients on the tax aspects of our payroll software. Your expertise in tax compliance, bookkeeping, and meticulous attention to detail will ensure the accurate and timely processing of tax-related documents, enhancing our clients' experience with our software and services.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the sales and client relations teams to onboard new clients on the tax-related features of our payroll software.
- Conduct comprehensive training sessions to educate clients on tax setup, compliance requirements, and reporting functionalities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their tax-related inquiries and providing exceptional customer support.
- Ensure adherence to tax regulations and requirements for various jurisdictions, staying up-to-date with changes in tax laws.
- Review and process tax-related documents, including tax forms, W-2s, 1099s, and other relevant tax filings.
- Verify the accuracy of tax calculations and deductions to ensure compliance and mitigate any potential errors.
- Apply your bookkeeping experience to manage and reconcile general ledger accounts for clients using our payroll software.
- Assist clients in setting up and maintaining accurate and organized financial records within the software.
- Collaborate with our development team to enhance the software's GL management functionalities based on user feedback.
- Maintain a meticulous approach to all tax-related tasks, ensuring precise data entry, validation, and documentation.
- Identify opportunities for improving tax-related processes and workflows within our payroll software.
- Collaborate with the product development team to implement enhancements that streamline tax-related functionalities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in tax preparation, compliance, and reporting, preferably in a payroll or HR software context.
- Strong understanding of general ledger management and bookkeeping principles.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a track record of delivering accurate results consistently.
- In-depth knowledge of tax regulations, laws, and reporting requirements for various jurisdictions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and internal teams.
- Proficiency in using payroll software and relevant accounting tools.
