Objective

Perform multi-state Payroll Tax administrative duties which includes federal, state, and local Payroll Tax compliance, reviewing employee tax data for accuracy, and other Payroll Tax related functions.  Hand the compliance administration of filing and reconciling Payroll Taxes.


 Responsibilities

  • Prepare, process, and pay US Payroll Taxes according to government laws and regulations.
  • Remain compliant with government regulations and company policies through continuous education and research.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) to review and test up-coming tax updates and ensure they get applied timely to payroll software.
  • Maintain tax forms and information on Payroll's intranet site.
  • Assist Payroll Associates with processing biweekly payroll.
  • Respond to inquiries from employees and supervisors regarding payroll issues.
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect data by keeping information confidential.
  • Reconcile and report ACH garnishments, 401k, and other payroll related wages and withholdings.
  • Reconcile payroll liabilities using general ledger detail.
  • Audit Payroll Taxes throughout the year to confirm employee taxable gross and withholdings are accurate.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5-7 years related experience
  • Associate degree (Accounting)   Non-degree considered if 6+ years of related experience along with a high school diploma or GED.
  • Occasional travel (0-5%)
  • Occasional overnight stays (0-5%)
  • Job requires employee to drive a personal vehicle to conduct company business < 20% per week (8 hours) and/or travel locally between company locations during scheduled workday

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • In depth knowledge of multi state tax reporting and payroll processes.
  • Good analytical skills.   Good communication skills both oral and written.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
