Payroll Representative: Full Time
Objectives of this role:
- Oversee all aspects of payroll processing for the company and its subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with any applicable local, state, or federal wage rate requirements
- Maintain equipment and pit material records for the company and its subsidiaries
Responsibilities:
- Review, code, and enter all payroll into accounting system and workbooks
- Maintain employee records and deductions, including medical, dental and life insurance, and 401k contributions
- Prepare and upload weekly 401k contributions to 401k provider portal
- Review, verify, and process quarterly Federal and State withholding and unemployment compensation reporting
- Enter and maintain records for equipment and pit materials
- Complete Certified Payroll reporting for state projects or others, as required
- Process year-end tax documents, including W-2s, W-3s, 940 FUTA, etc.
- Review and reconcile job costing records, as needed
Required skills and qualifications:
- Prior 2-4+ years of experience in a payroll position is strongly preferred
- Prior experience in an office setting or A/P, A/R, accounting assistant/staff role
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality of employee and company information
- Ability to learn and navigate payroll software and systems
- Self-starter – able to work independently and take ownership of tasks
- Excellent attention to detail and time management
- Excited to work for a family-owned company on a tight-knit team
