Payroll Representative

Payroll Representative: Full Time

Objectives of this role:

Oversee all aspects of payroll processing for the company and its subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with any applicable local, state, or federal wage rate requirements
Maintain equipment and pit material records for the company and its subsidiaries

Responsibilities:

Review, code, and enter all payroll into accounting system and workbooks
Maintain employee records and deductions, including medical, dental and life insurance, and 401k contributions
Prepare and upload weekly 401k contributions to 401k provider portal
Review, verify, and process quarterly Federal and State withholding and unemployment compensation reporting
Enter and maintain records for equipment and pit materials
Complete Certified Payroll reporting for state projects or others, as required
Process year-end tax documents, including W-2s, W-3s, 940 FUTA, etc.
Review and reconcile job costing records, as needed

Required skills and qualifications:

Prior 2-4+ years of experience in a payroll position is strongly preferred
Prior experience in an office setting or A/P, A/R, accounting assistant/staff role
Able to maintain strict confidentiality of employee and company information
Ability to learn and navigate payroll software and systems
Self-starter – able to work independently and take ownership of tasks
Excellent attention to detail and time management
Excited to work for a family-owned company on a tight-knit team
