Payroll Processor and Accounting Assistant-Hourly Rate from $28 per hour DOE

General Engineering Company in Redding California is seeking a Payroll Processor and Accounting Assistant. Growth potential. The job is located in Redding, CA and is not a remote position. The job hours are Monday thru Friday from 8 to 5.

Job Duties Overview:

• Process weekly union payroll in a job costing and union environment
• Review and track certified payroll reports
• Process weekly payroll taxes
• Maintain Union Payroll wage rates in our Accounting System
• Maintain and distribute employee packages to Project Superintendents
• Send dispatch requests to appropriate unions as requested by Project Managers and Superintendents
• Cross train to assist the Controller, accounts payable and estimating as needed
• Assist with telephones
• Special assignments as assigned

Job Qualifications:

Degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum of 2 years accounting experience

Minimum of 2 year payroll experience

Ability to handle multiple interruptions and adjust priorities regularly

Excellent communication skills verbal and written

Proficient in Excel

Individual must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and have strong organizational skills and get along well with other team members.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
