Job Summary:
Performs a variety of complex duties involved in processing payrolls, training new managers, monitoring employee change notices, assisting supervisor, and other HR related tasks.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Ensures timely processing of payroll:
Reviews all weekly payroll reports and records
Generates and audits weekly time card reports
Edits corrections in time and attendance system (Paycom) to ensure accurate pay processing
Verifies that department transfers are accurate
Prepares and creates data sets and files for import to Payroll
Checks PTO time for availability and eligibility
Conducts pay class audit and makes appropriate changes if needed
Timely distribution of checks to Bristol Hospital employees and other corporations
Assists with audits of provider pay rates, shift differentials, and ladder program incentives
Responsible for post-payroll notifications and funding contributions
Responsible for the accounts payable remittance advices for weekly payroll deductions
Completes wage garnishment tracking including contacting the appropriate agency if necessary
Assists in the training and orientation of new managers/employees to payroll functions
Delivers Payroll presentation in bi-weekly new hire orientation
Conducts Manager training monthly (timecard/time off approvals)
Helps employees navigate the Payroll module in Employee Self Service
Prepares reporting
Provides W-2 compilation assistance for all corporations
Employee wage verification for supervisor's review and authorization
Prepares UC-61 forms when needed
Generates ad hoc reports as requested
Additional duties
Assists in the day to day efficient operation of the HR office; including phone coverage, faxes, employment verifications, walk-ins and mail.
Performs additional related duties and/or projects as required or assigned by Supervisor. Makes recommendations to improve the operation of HR/payroll systems and office workflow.
Provides the utmost confidentiality with all payroll records, wages and rates of pay.
As needed, responsible for short-term disability, and supplemental payrolls.
Provides assistance to Department Heads, Administrative staff and others in dealing with questions and problems relating to the interpretation of payroll policies and procedures, referring unusual circumstances to supervisor. Responds to payroll inquiries via service queue (SolarWinds)
Educational / Minimum Requirements:
Must have High School Diploma. Associate's and/or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
3+ years of experience within a complex payroll system is required. Experience in Healthcare HR/Payroll setting is preferred.

Bristol Hospital Mandated Educational Requirements:
General orientation at time of hire. Fire/Safety/Infection Control annually. Other programs as mandated by the Hospital.
Special Requirements:
Computer skills, data entry and math skills. Knowledge of Excel required. Superior customer service skills.
Physical Requirements:
Extended sitting, together with occasional bending, reaching and stooping.
Work Environment:
Normal office conditions with adequate lighting and ventilation. May include customer contact and telephone use.
Cognitive Requirements:
Analytical skills, problem solving and calculating abilities.
