At Better Life Partners, we are revolutionizing how substance use disorders are treated, and we're looking for highly motivated individuals to join our team as Payor Contracting Specialists. As a Payor Contracting Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing essential care and support to individuals undergoing treatment for substance use disorders, all from the comfort of your own home.

The Role

We are seeking a Payor Contracting Specialist accountable for researching requirements for group enrollment to eligible FFS contracts. As well as the maintenance of our existing contracts and supporting our overall contracting processes. The Contracting Specialist serves a crucial role on our finance team as they help ensure that our contracts are in compliance and up-to-date, and ensure that Better Life Partners is appropriately reimbursed for services. The Specialist is the main expert on our group and provider enrollments.

This job is for you if you have a passion for improving health care, thrive in a fast-paced environment, appreciate interacting with different people and roles virtually across multiple states, have great attention to detail, and are diligent about follow-up and follow-through. The job requires a passion for keeping track of complex processes and ensuring things move to completion.

What you will do:

  • Responsible for researching requirements for new FFS contracts in our existing and future markets.
  • Initiate and follow through the contracting process until BLP is enrolled as a provider group with a new payer.
  • Overall maintenance of BLP payer FFS and value-based contracts, addendums, renewal terms, and required notification or due dates.
  • Maintenance of new and existing service locations for all existing contracts.
  • Maintenance of service locations internally within our EHR and Practice Management systems.
  • Supports the maintenance of a common provider directory/database for enrollment with payors (provider roster).
  • Responsible for obtaining copies of updated fee schedules from payors to share with RCM Leadership on a bi-annual basis.
  • Update contract summaries per payor in all states for RCM to use as a point of reference.
  • Assist with all contracting administration and projects, as needed

You are a good fit if you have:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent experience
  • Experience supporting Payor Contracting and delegated credentialing agreements with various insurance companies (Medicaid, MCOs, Medicare, commercial plans, etc.) across various states.
  • Dedication to completing challenging tasks
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong relationship-building skills both external and internal.
  • Thrive on working independently
It will also be great if you have:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent experience
  • Experience supporting Payor Contracting and delegated credentialing agreements with various insurance companies (Medicaid, MCOs, Medicare, commercial plans, etc.) across various states.

  • Deep knowledge of medical insurance payers and regulations
  • Knowledgeable in the healthcare & mental health industries - terminology, regulations, and processes
  • Prior project management experience
  • Prior experience working in provider contracting on the provider end

This is a hybrid position. At least 2 days weekly or one week per month, you’ll work from our shared workspaces in Short Hills, NJ, Boston, MA, or Manchester, NH. When not in the shared workspaces, you’ll work from home.

Work-from-home requirements:

  • Must have internet service with minimum upload/download ability.
  • The company will provide equipment (laptop, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and headset) plus a remote work stipend.
  • Must have a quiet space to speak to members with minimal background noise.
  • Must understand the importance of protected health information and ensure any data/information is not visible to others.

This is a full-time, exempt (salaried) position. The starting range for this position is $49,200 - $65,400 annually.
