Paver Operator

A.J. Penna & Son, is a Construction Company based in Fairfield County CT that specializes in Underground Utility Excavation. We are seeking an experienced Paver Operator for immediate hire. Position Summary:

Summary

We are looking for a Paver Operatorto join our team! This person is responsible for operating heavy equipment to grade specifications, and oversight of paving crew.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain paving equipment and machinery
• Ensure the proper application of asphalt or concrete on roads and surfaces
• Follow project plans and specifications to ensure proper application of materials
• Inspect paving equipment and machinery to ensure proper function and perform routine maintenance as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Assist with the preparation of the worksite, including setting up traffic control devices and ensuring proper grading and compaction of the base material
• Coordinate with other crew members to ensure project completion within the given timeframe
• Ensure that all work is completed in compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations
• Attend safety meetings and participate in safety training as required
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management

Requirements:

• Prior experience as a Paving Machine Operator
• Must be authorized to work in the US
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Ability to operate and maintain paving equipment and machinery
• Knowledge of asphalt or concrete application techniques
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
