Job Title: Patrol Supervisor
Reports To: Account Manager
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Contract adherence, personnel administration and management, quality control, direct supervision of assigned personnel and accounts, post inspections, training of assigned personnel, scheduling, payroll, internal and external communications (oral and written), Client satisfaction, Customer Service, conduct disciplinary actions, conduct personnel proficiency evaluations and reports, recommend hire, recommend termination, and recommend transfers of personnel. Work post shortages, and report incidents, accidents, and infractions of Client and United Protective Security’s policies and procedures. Maintain liaison with Branch Manager. Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the Branch Management Personnel.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure adherence to individual contract specifications and stipulations. Recommend to the Branch Manager any enhancements to the security program and operation.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of post specifications, post orders, instructions, patrol areas, emergency procedures, and any other information necessary for the effective and efficient operation of Branch accounts.
- Provide direct supervision over supervisors and security officers assigned to Branch accounts ensuring assigned personnel are properly licensed, posted, trained, meet uniform and grooming standards, meet licensing requirements, and are in compliance with established Client and United Protective policies and procedures.
- Train security officers and supervisors and newly assigned personnel on their duties/responsibilities and provide periodic updates on policies/procedures/techniques.
- Routinely visit/inspect security officers assigned to Branch accounts, review their reports, provide training/guidance, evaluate level of Security Officer’s proficiency at his/her assigned post, assist when necessary, and initiate corrective action as required.
- Complete Post Inspection/Officer Appraisal Reports and submit reports to the Branch Manager (and Client if required by contract).
- Arrange for emergency coverage when required. Schedule and fully coordinate Client requests for special coverage.
- Notify Branch Manager of all Client requests for additional/special coverage.
- Document, verify, and submit payroll/billing forms as required and in accordance with established schedules for submission.
- Write, review, and submit reports on all incidents, security breaches, accidents, and disciplinary matters, these reports are to be submitted to the Branch Manager no later than the end of the assigned duty shift.
- Use effective disciplinary measures and techniques to correct supervisor/security officer infractions of either the Client’s or United Protective policies or procedures. Ensure complete and concise documentation is maintained in all matters of disciplinary action. A complete copy of all incidents and actions will be forwarded to the Branch Manager.
- Forward all recommendations for termination or transfer, with complete justification, to the Branch Manager.
- Report post shortages to the Branch Manager. Work post shortages as an assigned Security Officer until properly relieved by a trained security officer.
- Complete Daily Management Logs detailing accounts visited, clients visited, account/Client concerns/problems/compliments, security officer/post inspections conducted, health of the account, and actions taken. Submit FTO Shift Reports Management Logs to the Branch Manager.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Knowledge of and ability to effectively use managerial skills: Planning, controlling, coordinating, directing, and implementing.
Possess leadership, supervisory, and management skills. Also possess the ability to effectively delegate authority.
Must be competent and knowledgeable in matters related to Client’s and United Protective Security’s policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Knowledgeable of patrolling techniques, security policies and procedures, and Federal, State, Local Laws, rules, and regulations affecting the Security Forces posted at Branch accounts.
Possess the ability to communicate effectively through both written and verbal forms of communications using computer, smart phone or iPad.
Able to work independently and handle a variety of incidents involving Clients, security personnel and emergency situations.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of Sexual Harassment, Equal Opportunity, and Workmen’s Compensation Laws and Regulations.
Familiar with counseling techniques and conflict resolution.
Time Management
Perform security officer duties, when required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of two years supervisory experience.
Some College preferred.
APPEARANCE/ATTITUDE
Properly wear and maintain issued clothing/uniform, if required.
Comply with United Protective Security’s policy dealing with grooming standards.
Convey a highly professional image and attitude to all clients and fellow employees.
Act as a role model for personnel under your supervision.
Be in good physical condition.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to meet requirements and maintain a current Security Officer License.
Must pass a background investigation to include criminal history, valid driver’s license, stable work history, and drug/alcohol test.
Must pass a pre-employment Security Officer’s examination.
Must attend and pass Security Officer’s training, as related to licensing requirements, when scheduled realizing failure to do so could result in not being able to work, suspension, or termination.
Must have a reliable automobile.
OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
Professionally use and answer Company Provided telephones.
Will be required to use a computer (MS Office/Windows/MSDOS) and iPad.
Operated, refuel, and wash assigned vehicle.
