Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care and ensure the safety and well-being of patients
- Monitor patients and maintain constant observation
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals
- Follow proper infection control procedures and maintain a clean and safe environment
- Document patient observations and report any changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare staff
- Respect and uphold patient rights and confidentiality
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in patient care or a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of first aid techniques and basic medical terminology
- Familiarity with resident rights and regulations in a healthcare setting
- Ability to work with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities
- Understanding of home care practices and procedures
- Proficient in medication administration and documentation
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to lift and move patients as needed
- Experience in hospice care is a plus
