Job Description
Provide service excellence to each patient and family by performing designated business processes associated with audiology appointments and necessary insurance authorization. This position is responsible for the completion of patient registration, inbound and outbound scheduling, insurance authorization for specialized durable medical equipment, patient/caregiver communication, and front-desk duties including co-pay, pre-service, and past due collections.
Responsible for accurate and complete patient accounts based on departmental protocol, policies and procedures, and compliance with regulatory agencies, to include but not limited to pre-registration and registration functions, timely and accurate appointment scheduling, check-in and co-pay collection. Ensure all insurance requirements are met prior to patients' arrival and inform patients of their financial liability.
Participates in department and Delaware Valley CQI projects; identifies opportunities to improve services, makes recommendations and implements actions as appropriate and consistent with the goals of the Nemours Foundation.
This position has high customer service interaction with our patients, payors and physicians by phone and in-person and requires excellent customer service, communication, and critical thinking skills.
