Job description

Patient Services Manager

Reports to and works directly with the Executive Director to plan, develop, coordinate, and direct the patient centered programs and service strategies of the organization.

Patient Service Function:

  • Supervise Patient Services Department

· Responsible for effective charting of patient consultations in both paper charts and patient database.

· Responsible for effective charting of referral methods, and community resources.

· Responsible for sourcing and oversight of external and internal patient financial assistance programs.

· Manages inventory and distribution processes and records of donations, including medical supplies, equipment, educational materials, etc.

· Provides monthly statistical reports for the Board of Directors, hospital cancer committees, etc.

· Works with area medical communities to ensure continued patient referrals.

· Assure proper staffing to meet the needs of the Patient Services department.

  • Supervise Volunteer Staff

· Responsible for recruiting and training Patient Services volunteer staff, and interns.

· Plan and implement schedules, assignments, and activities.

· Coordinates volunteer recognition and team development events.

  • Supervise Support Group Facilitators

· Maintains ongoing communication, organizes facilitator meetings, coordinate facilitator recognition events, ensures facilitators have needed tools and resources.

· Recruits new Group Facilitators as needed.

Community Development

· Attend Cancer Committee or Coalition meetings with Mercy Health System as required.

· Develop and manage cancer education and prevention programs including collaboration with area agencies to support the mission of the Cancer Foundation.

· Participate in outreach events, honorarium and memorial events, public speaking events, and community awareness events on behalf of the Support House.

Other

· Continually assess gaps and needs in cancer health services and maintain current information on cancer health resources available throughout the service area.

· Participates in all DWRCSH major fundraising events, including coordination, planning, attending, etc.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· BS/BA degree or minimum of five years relevant experience

· Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

· Excellent communication skills: ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and sensitively with cancer patients, staff, board members, accrediting bodies, grantors, funding bodies, volunteers, and the general public.

· Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks, and consistently meet deadlines.

· Demonstrates high level of professionalism, emotional maturity, confidentiality, stability, personal integrity, initiative, and resourcefulness always.

· Willingness to respect, understand, and promote the mission, values, and goals of the foundation.

· Must be able to lift 30# and stand for 2 or more hours a day – as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 - $38,000.00 per year
