Position Title: Patient Registration Representative
Reports To: Patient Services & Patient Registration Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Employment Status: Full-Time or PRN
Summary: Provides indirect patient care in the hospital. Meets the communication needs of the patient /family, departmental staff and medical staff. Implements directions from physicians and nursing staff.
Qualifications
- Education: * High school diploma*
- Licenses/Certification:
- Current BLS certification (Or obtained prior to start date)
- Current MOAB or CPI Certification or obtained within 90 days of employment
- Experience :* 1-year experience in an acute patient care setting*
- Insurance/Preauthorization experience helpful
Essential Functions:
Job Specific
- Handle all inquiries upon patient intake
- Basic Computer knowledge
- Ensure all papers are properly filled out and input into system
- Enter and verify that all patient demographics and billing information correctly entered/verified at time of check in.
- Obtain signed statements/forms.
- Perform insurance data entry and enter in co-insurance/co-payments.
- Collect balances due at time of check out.
- Direct patients to relevant areas of building.
- Answer phones in polite manner, communicates information to the appropriate staff or family
- Keep admission desk and lobby clean and organized, including but not limited to cleaning patient restrooms.
- Contact nurses and doctors about patient inquires
- Maintain good working relationships both within the department and within other departments.

- Adheres to dress code. Appearance is neat and clean and wears appropriate identification while on duty.
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient and/or employee information to assure patient and/or employee rights are protected.
- Reports to work on time as scheduled; adheres to policies regarding notification of absence.
- Attends all mandatory in-services and staff meetings.
- Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
- Complies with all policies regarding ethical business practices.
- Communicates the mission, ethics, and goals of the center.
- Consistently demonstrates Guest Relation’s skills to patients, physicians, visitors, employees, and any other individuals with whom they may come in contact.
- Complies with relevant regulations and standards and policies governing safe workplace environment (OSHA, etc).
Job Types: Part-time, PRN
Pay: Up to $18.00 per hour
