Job Description: Patient Recall Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Patient Recall Coordinator is responsible for researching patient procedure history in the electronic medical record, determining the timing of follow up/recall procedures, and communicating to the patient and scheduling team the timing of the follow up procedure. The position will focus on researching old medical records regarding endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures to determine follow-up procedures. They will also perform quality checks, update records, and adhere to data privacy and security standards. This team will report directly to the Scheduling Supervisor.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direct supervision of the Scheduling Supervisor, and within established policies and procedures, the position performs the following essential functions:
- Research and retrieve patient information from electronic health records, paper files, and other sources.
- Enter patient data accurately and efficiently into a database using computer and software applications.
- Verify and correct data entry errors, inconsistencies, and missing information.
- Follow data entry procedures and guidelines to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient data in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
- Communicate with medical staff, supervisors, and clients as needed.
- Perform other administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of experience in data entry, medical records, or related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
- Knowledge of medical terminology, coding, and documentation
- Knowledge of endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures and follow-up guidelines
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and speed.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
