Job Description:
PURPOSE OF JOB:
Provides direct Patient Care and performs selected therapeutic interventions and diagnostic procedures under the direction of the Registered Nurse and LPN.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides safe and efficient direct Patient Care with consideration for age-specific accommodations.
Collaborates with patients, families, and health care team members in order to achieve excellence in Patient Care.
Promotes patient safety through adherence to protocols, policies, procedures, evidence-based guidelines and Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals.
Actively participates in and supports departmental and organizational quality initiatives and goals.
Maintains clinical competency according to unit-specific standards.
Job Qualifications:
Education:
High school or GED completion
Certified Nursing Assistant documentation for certified PCT position. Must maintain current Pennsylvania license.
B. Experience: Varies based on department and position.
C. Other Skills:
1. Certified in B.L.S. for health care providers
2. Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
3. Knowledge of medical terminology helpful
4. Knowledge of computer functionality
