What you will need:
Education, Experience and/or Skills Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions
- Proficient communication skills
- Attend in depth orientation regarding Patient Care skills tasks
Additional NICU Specific:
- Attends Patient Care skills tasks related to preparing and delivering infant feedings
- Strong math skills for preparing and delivering infant feedings
Education, Experience and/or Skills Preferred:
NICU Specific:
- Previous experience in a Milk Tech role or a Registered Dietary Tech role
License/Certification Required:
- Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association
License/Certification Preferred:
- Certificate from an accredited nursing assistant training course (CNA); or minimum six months previous Patient Care experience or equivalent; or completion of one nursing clinical rotation
NICU Specific:
Current Food Handler Course Certificate of Completion
General Summary:
Under supervision of a Registered Nurse and according to established procedures, performs Patient Care tasks and Patient Care procedures necessary to provide for care, comfort and safety of patient
The Patient Care Tech/Unit Secretary position in the NICU also performs tasks related to receiving, preparing and delivering infant feedings under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Registered Dietitian and according to established procedures.
