Form of workPatient Care Technician assists in care of hospital patients, under direction of a Registered Nurse and medical staff.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Answers signal lights and bells to determine patients' needs.
- Bathes, dresses and undresses patients.
- Serves and collects food trays and feeds patients requiring help.
- Transports patients to treatment units, using wheelchair or wheeled carriage, or assists them to walk.
- Drapes patients for examinations and treatments, and remains with patients, performing duties (ie: holding instruments and adjusting lights).
- Tidy and clean patients' rooms.
- Washes and dresses bodies of deceased persons.
- Changes bed linens, runs errands, directs visitors, and answers telephone. Takes and records blood pressure, temperature, pulse and respiration rates, and food and liquid intake and output, as directed. Reports unusual finding to nurse
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Current Washington State Nursing Assistant Certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support Certification required.
- 3 to 6 months previous Patient Care Tech experience preferred

Salary Range: $18.65-$27.70 per hour
