About the Position
Our ideal candidate is comfortable providing clinical skills to each patient, creating a safe and effective environment as well as promoting health and well-being. The Patient Care tech has procedural skills within the scope of practice and is able to document the patient’s experience.
What do we look for?
- Ability to provide basic support to PA-C/APRN and other clinical personnel with regard to the care and treatment of patients
- Obtain and interpret vital signs, including blood sugar levels
- Have knowledge of commonly prescribed medication, dosages and action of medications
- Basic EKG interruption
- Administer eye drops
- Administrative functions, including maintenance and order of medical supply inventory and clerical/data entry assistance
- Communicate with other physicians’ offices to obtain medical/cardiac clearances and medical records
- Present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Assist with wheel chair transport
Qualifications / Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalency is required
- PCT certification is required
- One year Patient Care experience preferable in a clinical setting
- Must be mobile; walking, sitting, standing, bending and stretching
- Perform general duties and other functions as required or assigned
