Partners in Abortion Care is an all-trimester abortion clinic located in College Park, Maryland. We seek to create a work environment where both our staff and the people we serve thrive.

Purpose:
Partners in Abortion Care is seeking a full-time Patient Care Technician who understands the complicated intersections of a patient’s life and experiences that may lead to having an abortion. The ideal candidate for this position is compassionate, pro-choice, patient, and excited to be part of a new, rapidly growing, and fast-paced organization.
The anticipated schedule of this position is primarily Tuesday to Friday (approximately 32 hrs FTE) with some Mondays for meetings and staff training. Applicants must be available for at least one week of on-call per month.

This position is part of the SEIU 1199 bargaining unit. The selected candidate will be subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the collective bargaining agreement between Partners in Abortion Care LLC and SEIU 1199. Membership in the union and payment of union fees is required upon hiring. We offer competitive wages and benefits as negotiated under the collective bargaining agreement. Duties/Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with members of the clinical team to deliver high-quality, patient-center, trauma-informed care for abortion in primarily the second and third trimester.
- Direct Patient Care activities including patient education, assisting providers in the clinical care of patients, and cleaning and stocking Patient Care spaces
- Assisting physicians during procedures
- Obtaining patient vital signs
- Sonography
- Instrument sterilization and processing
- Administrative duties as assigned
- Quality improvement projects as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
Experience:
- 1-year experience in a health care setting: Reproductive health preferred.
- Birth or Abortion doula experience, Preferred
- Knowledge/ Familiarity with abortion in the US
- Bilingual- Spanish- Preferred
