Job Description
The staff hemodialysis Patient Care Technician is an unlicensed health care provider who is employed by a hemodialysis clinic or unit for the purpose of participating in the direct treatment of patients undergoing hemodialysis. The Patient Care Technician works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, medical director, and patient's physician. The hemodialysis Patient Care Technician must possess the physical capabilities to successfully perform the job as stated in the physical requirements. Following all policies and procedures is required.

License/Certification
BLS required
Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) through Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC)--OR-- Certified Hemodialysis Technologist/Technician (CHT) through Board of Nephrology Examiners Nursing and Technology (BONENT).
