Patient Care Tech - PCT - Clinical Decision Unit
Full time - Day - 7am-7:30pm
Johns Hopkins Suburban Hospital is a distinguished healthcare institution committed to providing exceptional medical care and innovative solutions in Montogomery County. The Patient Care Tech is a critical part of the Patient Care Team and works in a collaborative relationship with the Registered Nurse (RN) and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team. This certified role observes patients, provides basic nursing care, and maintains the patient environment in an outcome-oriented, safe, therapeutic, compassionate, and cost-effective manner.
The Patient Care Techwill work within our Observation/Clinical Decision Unit, a 20 bed observation unit that works closely with the Emergency Department's 32 bed unit. The CDU provides an alternative to discharge or hospital inpatient admission for the emergency department patient who may benefit from an extended observation period (generally less than 24 hours). Patients of all age ranges who are not ill enough to warrant immediate inpatient hospital admission but are also not well enough to return to their place of residence may need additional monitoring, diagnostic evaluation, and/or treatment in an observation unit/CDU prior to disposition.
