Job description

We are looking for a Full Time Patient Care Secretary/Scheduler to manage our front desk at our Upland office. Ideal candidate will be able to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks along with scheduling field hospice staff and will have knowledge of obtaining Prior Authorizations/Insurance verification. As a Patient Care Secretary/Scheduler, you will be the first point of contact. Our Patient Care Secretary/Scheduler duties include offering administrative support, creating and maintaining schedules for field hospice staff. Arranging or organizing schedules for clients and/or patients in line with patient plan of care. Ensuring patient needs and frequencies are being met. Coordinate with Nursing supervisor, RN case managers and patients/caregivers with regards to changes in schedule that may come up on a daily basis. You will welcome guests and greet people who visit the business in person or telephonically. Ideal candidates should be able to deal with emergencies in a timely and effective manner, while streamlining office operations. Multitasking and stress management skills are essential for this position.... HOSPICE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR POSITION.. Responsibilities include

  • Greet all visitors and staff as they walk through our doors.
  • Ask Covid-19 screening questions.
  • Take the patient's temperature.
  • Direct our guests to the appropriate suite for their visit.
  • Ensure all visitors are wearing a mask.
  • Knowledge of obtaining prior authorizations is preferred.
  • Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable.
  • Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
  • Receive, sort and distribute deliveries
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA
  • Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing and faxing in compliance with HIPAA
  • Creating and maintaining field staff schedules while ensuring frequencies and plan of care is being met

Skills

  • Proven work experience as a Patient Care Secretary/Scheduler at another hospice/home health
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers)
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Customer service attitude

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $24.00 per hour
