Details:
- Weekdays 8:00am-5:00pm
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Applicants could be hired as a Representative. Will consider hiring with Specialist title for applicants with 2+ years of direct experience in medical/hospital billing.
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for accurate, timely and compliant submission of primary, secondary, and tertiary commercial claims to insurance payers to ensure optimum reimbursement. Resolve payer edit failures identified in billing software daily. Maintains required billing knowledge and coordinates with necessary departments to resolve claims being held for appropriate codes and charges. Understands payer rejections and takes appropriate action to facilitate corrections and claim resubmission. Works closely with CBO Systems Analyst to ensure electronic claim submission is successfully received by payers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Graduate or equivalent and some college preferred
- Experience working in medical office and/or hospital billing environment
- Ability to perform basic mathematical tasks • Knowledge of insurance claims processing and managed care plan benefits
- Understands the purpose of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 and Revenue Codes
- Knowledge of UB-04 and/or CMS 1500 claims and electronic claims submission
- Demonstrates effective analytical, oral and written communication skill
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology
- Understand the ethics of confidentiality and healthcare compliance
- Average computer and data entry skills as required in the healthcare industry
- Ability to use Microsoft Office applications effectively (i.e. Excel, MSWord, Outlook)
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments daily
