Remote Position
Performs functions for reconciliation of credit balances for refunds. Knowledge of EOBs from payers in order to investigate account and follow-up for moderately complex accounts. Other duties such as assist Account Receivable in order to reconcile outstanding balances in addition to assigned duties.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Two to three years of experience in a physician billing office
- General understanding and application of basic accounting principles
- PC proficiency
- Accurate data entry skills
- Knowledge of GE, EPIC or similar computerized billing system
- Knowledge of payers in specialty
- Understanding of FSC's and paycodes used in GE system, and the importance of
compliance with all government regulations regarding billing
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Enters charges accurately and timely, ensures charges are balanced and reconciled within department guidelines.
2. Manually posts payments, contractual adjustments and rejections from EOB’s.
3. Performs AR follow up on rejected claims.
4. Performs consistent follow up on open invoices by insurance class utilizing PCS or ATB.
5. Resolves E-commerce edits within department guidelines.
6. Selects AR follow up and/or documentation request in a timely manner.
7. Researches and resolve insurance denials through written appeal, telephone call, web based adjudication system, charge correction or write off request.
Experience
