JOB SUMMARY: This position serves as the primary access point for patients seeking appointments with providers in clinic practices. This position is responsible for the gathering, entry and verification of registration information. In addition, this position is responsible for the effective scheduling of patient appointments in a timely and accurate manner. This position must retain a high level of professionalism at all times.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent with related course work required. Completion of a clerical or general office program desired.
EXPERIENCE:
Candidates must have at least two years of clerical, customer service, or related experience such as medical office experience, or have received technical school training in practice operations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Candidates must possess excellent communication skills as well as knowledge of medical practice operations.
Candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills necessary to function as liaison between physicians/providers, staff and patients and their family members. Also able to demonstrate a high level of customer service when working with patients who may call under adverse situations.
Candidate must possess knowledge of medical practice protocols.
Candidate must possess an understanding of both governmental and private insurance programs, and how this information effects patient appointment scheduling.
Candidate must be self-motivated and possess critical thinking skills, along with ability to prioritize and coordinate several tasks simultaneously. Retaining a confident, knowledgeable and helpful demeanor even during busy call volumes is essential.
