PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Manage the hospital's database, updating patients' information, confirming insurance details, taking calls, responding to patients' inquiries and concerns, scheduling appointments, and performing related administrative and clerical tasks as needed
Schedule a wide variety of outpatient based clinical appointments for various departments. Enter appointment data into the scheduling package. Assist patients both face-to-face and on the phone. Provide effective customer service and answer general questions about different types of clinic exams and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School diploma or equivalent with two years education and/or experience working in a clinical setting.
2. Knowledge of medical terminology, and prior registration/admission experience preferred.
3. Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently are required.
4. Strong computer skills working with software programs i.e. Cemer, Microsoft Word and Excel.
5. Work as a strong efficient team player. Ability to complete tasks quickly and efficiently.
6. Must be able to multitask several duties at one time.
7. Must demonstrate good communication skills as well as proficient grammar, punctuation, and spelling in business English.
8. Able to deal with all members of the public in a professional, courteous, and tactful manner.
9. Must demonstrate the ability to follow directions and comply with policy and procedures of the BBAHC departments involved in patient care.
10. Must maintain patient confidentiality as required by HIPAA/HITECH and BBAHC policies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
l . Greets patients, answers phones, schedule and confirm appointments.
2. Assist with data entry for canceled and no-show appointments. Manage unscheduled appointment/waiting list.
3. Schedule all outpatient, optometry, audiology, physical therapy, and medical imaging appointments by way of telephone, email and in-person.
4. Responsible for obtaining both demographic and financial information to insure patient medical records are accurate for both clinical and billing needs.
5. Collects, verifies, and records all required patient information accurately in the EHR including insurance policy information, while maintaining the departmental accuracy standard of 97%.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
