Overview
Plans, coordinates, manages, and directs all areas of registration within the Emergency Department to ensure quality, productivity, and customer service. Monitors ED Track Board to ensure all patients are registered timely, oversees Point of Service collections, ensures team members close cash drawers timely, ensures daily work queues are reviewed and worked, and ensures the department is adequately staffed at all times for 24/7 coverage.

Monitors ED Track Board to ensure all patients are registered timely, oversees Point of Service collections, ensures team members close cash drawers timely, ensures daily work queues are reviewed and worked, and ensures the department is adequately staffed at all times for 24/7 coverage.
What you will do
- Plans, coordinates, manages and directs all areas of registration within the ED.
- Ensures the department is adequately staffed 24/7. Expected to cover shifts when there are vacancies.
- Ensures department meets or exceeds quality, productivity, and customer service metrics.
- Interviews, hires, and on-boards new team members.
- Provides staff orientation, education and training. Ensuring individuals are competent to perform their job duties. Annually assesses staff competency; provides coaching and mentoring as needed.
- Oversees Time of Service collections. Ensures team members close cash drawers timely and accurately.
- Works assigned work queues daily to include Patient, Account (DNB and Denial) and Claim Edits to ensure accuracy of registration data.
- Responsible for team member engagement and may cover Director responsibilities in their absence.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED, (Required)
- Bachelors Degree, Healthcare Administration or related field (Preferred)
Experience
- 5-6 years revenue Cycle experience (Required)
- 2 years leadership experience (Preferred)
Skills and Abilities
- Proven advanced Microsoft Office skills
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) - National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM) NAHAM (Required)
- CRCR - Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) HFMA (Preferred)
