We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as the Patient Access and Engagement Manager. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in developing and implementing strategies focused on improving access to care, the client experience through the internal and external referral process, overseeing central projects crucial for program management and financial sustainability, and leading engaged and invested operational teams.

As the Patient Access and Engagement Manager, you will:
  • Lead the Patient Access program and directly supervise the Call Center leadership team.
  • Lead the Health Center client referral program and directly supervise the Referrals Supervisor and indirectly, the program personnel.
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership to develop and oversee specific strategies for performance improvement and quality assurance activities, focusing on enhancing access to care, reimbursement, and central projects requiring program management.
  • Support Primary Care leadership in developing and implementing strategic plans, policies, frameworks, and initiatives, coordinates primary care work plans and budgets, and provides leadership in facilitating consensus and collaboration on complex issues with stakeholders. Additionally, demonstrates strategic execution, business acumen, and emotional intelligence by proactively anticipating needs, analyzing data, practicing general management competencies, and fostering relationships within the organization.
  • Evaluate current programs' effectiveness and access trends, develops reports, and implements new program initiatives, grant opportunities, and advancement initiatives.
  • Identify quality improvement efforts, gather and analyze information to determine resource needs, participates in internal and external committees, provides expert consultation, evaluates service quality, applies diversity and inclusion best practices, and collaborates with leadership to manage Health Center flow and improve service quality.
  • Oversee budgets, monitors expenses, recommends changes, manages contracts, and prepares narrative and statistical reports.
  • Develop plans to achieve program objectives and operational goals, analyze information for program changes, monitor expenditures, maintain budgetary control, manage revenue cycle components, explore new revenue sources, and maintain awareness of industry advancements and regulations.
  • Responsible for hiring, staffing, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering professional growth of employees; ensures clear understanding of roles, maintains high performance standards, and addresses any performance issues.
  • Direct, supervise, and coach staff daily, ensuring high-value care to patients, developing standard work, resolving conflicts, managing group dynamics, and maintaining a culture of accountability; collaborates with Human Resources to ensure staff have required licenses and certifications.
  • Utilize client experience surveys to develop program improvement strategies.
  • Develop external relationships and strategic partnerships to expand access to primary care and care coordination; serves as an expert in specialized technical areas, provides assistance and advice to staff, and facilitates consensus building and collaboration on complex issues.
  • Identify and forge strategic partnerships, consults with various stakeholders, attends meetings as a representative, and manages leadership team meetings as directed by Primary Care leadership.

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in healthcare administration, business management, or related field.
  • Experience supervising teams in a clinical or call center setting.
  • Proven experience in quality improvement, program management, or healthcare operations.
  • Strong understanding of Continuous Improvement principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
Preferred Qualifications/Transferable Skills*: You do not need to have the following preferred qualifications/ transferable skills to qualify. However, keep in mind we may consider some or all of the following when identifying the most qualified candidates.   • Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or like environment.
  • Experience in Call Center operations, referral processing, or other Patient Access-related operations.
  • Experience with OCHIN Epic.
