Receive and process histology and cytology specimens. Complete patient registrations; including entering patient demographics, insurance information, etc. Works closely with pathologists, pathology assistant, histology and cytology staff to prepare specimens for appropriate examination. Works to ensure a clean workspace; assisting in managing hazardous waste.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience
One year laboratory experience preferred with clerical/computer skills Proficient in the use of word-processing of 50 WPM Proficient in the knowledge of medical terminology and ability to expand this knowledge with pathology terminology The assessment, care and treatment provided by the Laboratory will be consistent with the specific age related needs of the patient. The Laboratory divisions are competent to provide patient care to neonates/infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
