Pathology Lab Supervisor

Position: Laboratory Supervisor - Pathology

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Laboratory Supervisor to oversee the operations of our Pathology Laboratory. The ideal candidate will provide leadership to the lab team, ensuring efficient and accurate testing processes while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

Supervisory experience not required but does NEED lead experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Supervision and Leadership:

• Provide guidance and supervision to laboratory staff, including medical technologists, technicians, and assistants.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment, ensuring team efficiency and morale.

1. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including CAP (College of American Pathologists) and CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) standards.
• Implement quality assurance programs to maintain accuracy, precision, and reliability of laboratory tests.

1. Operational Oversight:

• Manage day-to-day operations of the Pathology Laboratory, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimization.
• Monitor inventory levels, equipment maintenance, and ordering of supplies as needed.

1. Technical Expertise:

• Provide technical expertise and support to laboratory staff regarding testing methodologies, troubleshooting, and interpretation of results.
• Stay updated with advancements in Pathology Laboratory techniques and technologies.

1. Documentation and Reporting:

• Ensure accurate documentation of laboratory procedures, results, and quality control measures.
• Prepare and review reports, ensuring timely and precise reporting of test results.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field; ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) certification preferred.
• 3 years of experience in a clinical Pathology Laboratory, with [2] years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Thorough knowledge of Pathology Laboratory procedures, methodologies, and instrumentation.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and quality assurance principles.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Must have HT Certification
• ASCP or AMT Certification required
