• Outage Scheduling
- Assists Scrum Master in developing schedules and planning the work.
- Work with Scrum Master and subject matter experts throughout the organization to identify dates and times to make systems unavailable so that security patches may be applied.
- Thoroughly follows and tracks patch application adhering to the Change Management Lifecycle.
• Asset & Configuration Management
- Work with IT Systems Support & Coordination team to maintain the currency of the data in asset and configuration management repositories.
- Leverage configuration management tools to determine the software which resides on each asset. Includes working closely with subject matter experts from IT to eliminate false positives and ensure accuracy.
- Work with IT Compliance Services Analysts to identify any technology dependencies which may exist for the installation of security patches
- Works with subject matter experts from IT and other areas of the business to develop plans for the implementing security patches for third party software.
• Change Management
- Create tickets in change management system for the implementation of security patches
- Represents change tickets for security patch implementation to the Change Control Review Board.
• Administration
- Provide Team with asset patch scheduling task list for execution and tracking
- Tracks the work of the Scrum Team for use in sprint retrospective and process improvement ideas
- Records feedback from team on sprint retrospectives
• Validation
- Assists in the validation process to ensure security patches were applied to targeted systems
Required Skills and Experience
- 2-5 years of experience in the field of Information Technology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work individually and within a matrixed SCRUM team environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Goal oriented with the ability to move through obstacles to deliver results
- Willingness to learn new technologies
- Demonstrated data analysis skills
- Experience with change management methodology
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with the processes associated with implementing security patches for third party software in an organizational environment
- Familiarity with Flexera SVR patch tracking tool
- Experience with configuration management practices of information technology
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access Technologies
- Hands-on experience as a systems administrator for the AIX, Linux, or Windows operating system
- Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
- Experience with BMC Atrium Discovery and Dependency Mapping (ADDM) technology
- Familiarity with Agile methodology, specifically Scrum
