Department: Cheese Plant

Summary of Functions: Primary Responsibilities are to safely run plant equipment and achieve the goals of production while maintaining consistent quality.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Running large machinery such as cooker stretcher.
• Support troubleshooting of machinery.
• Daily communication with Supervisors for developments and appropriate work requests to make repairs and/or improve the process.
• Routine inspections of all working parts.
• Cleaning of floors, walls, tools, etc.
• Chemical safety workplace safety, and GMP training and practices
• CIP and sanitation of equipment
• Move carts of cheese curds and introduce them to the cooker.
• Responsible for the production and quality of products coming from the PASTA FILATA room.
• Add back of ingredients described in procedures.

Food Safety Requirements/Responsibilities:

• Comply with all Plant, State, and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.
• Comply with GMPs in the plant.
• Assist in the maintenance of the Food Safety and Quality system.

Organizational Relationships: The position reports to the Production Supervisor in the Cheese Production Department.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Must be a team player and ability to work independently.
• Attention to detail.

• Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to work all shifts as training may be required for any second and/or third-shift operator needs.

• This position will work in the Cheese Plant daily.
• The noise level in the manufacturing environment is very loud, ear plugs are provided for safety.
