GENERAL SUMMARY
Parts Professionals team with other members of the Parts Department to ensure that customers’ needs are met and the correct part is obtained the first time as quickly as possible. Increases focus on business growth, profitability, and fellow employee satisfaction. Assist in all activities of the Parts Department including monitoring department productivity, customer service, employee competency and morale; monitors parts and accessories inventory, and assists with parts marketing and merchandising.

Leading a Winning Team

· Builds a winning team by engaging, training, coaching, motivating, other Parts Department employees.
· Follows schedule and the activities of Parts Department.
· Monitors and evaluates self-performance within Parts Department regularly, continues training, and career guidance as necessary.
· Maintain focus on customer satisfaction, retail sales, wholesale sales and team goals.
· Ensures your training programs and required skills and/or certifications are up to date.
· Ensure customer satisfaction while developing employee/customer service skills.
· Provides information and offers assistance to employees as needed.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
· Help plan, analyzes, and manages department productivity.
· Follow established processes and standards to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient and effective Parts Department operations.
· Coordinates with Service Department, Sales Department, General Manager/Dealer, Ford Representatives, sublet vendors, and others to ensure effectiveness of the Parts Department.
· Help to maintains profitability of Parts Department.
· Assists with managing departmental expenses in an effort to ensure the profitability of the dealership.
· Works with management to develop dealership’s goals and objectives.
· Analyzes problems and establishes procedures to solve them.
· Develops marketing and merchandising plans and programs.

· Uses computers to monitor daily operations, track inventory, and reduce obsolescence.
· Applies best practices and resolutions found in manuals, publications, and other documents.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* (continued):
· Establishes processes to ensure accuracy between inventory and computer records.
· Utilizes new systems or processes implemented by Ford or the dealership.
· Maintain proficiency in use of in-house computer systems, “DMS”.
· Maintains an awareness of and makes certain other Parts Department employees comply with safety regulations and hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, and right-to-know policies and procedures.
· Makes warranty and billing adjustments.
Understanding and Using Business Knowledge
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
· Follows and maintains and inventory control system that meets the dealership’s internal, warranty, and customers’ needs for parts and accessories.
· Maintains Parts Department’s operating environment to ensure optimal performance.
· Monitors and stays up to date on technical aspects such as claims and warranty administration, computer systems, policies, stock keeping, receiving, etc.
· Maintains active professional affiliations and certifications.
· Keeps up to date on industry specific information.
· Develops business strategies to ensure a strategic marketing advantage.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS (continued):
Applying the Basics Focuses on referencing written information, mathematical reasoning, using computer and technical systems, learning new systems, processing new information and following safety procedures. This includes the ability to determine and execute necessary arithmetic operations in order to complete documentation, financial reporting, and record keeping as well as the ability to use information from graphs, charts, or written text. This involves using systems to modify or execute programs, and guidelines to improve departmental functioning, as well as complying with safety procedures and guidelines.
Understanding and Using Business Knowledge focuses on understanding how a business works, maintaining industry awareness, creating efficient business systems, applying technical expertise, and developing creative business strategies. This includes understanding the key external factors impacting business, using learned skills to control costs, developing systems which help the dealership attain its business goals, and developing creative and effective solutions in response to business problems.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education, training and/or state/national certifications should clearly demonstrate the possession of knowledge and skills stated above.
· Ford Master Certified (Parts Counter Person).
· Driver’s License.
EXPERIENCE
· 2 years in an automotive Parts Department
· 1 Year of supervisory experience (Parts or Service Department)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Moving about the Parts Department.
· Using Computer to look up parts and write up orders.
· Utilizing physical and manual dexterity.
· Driving a vehicle.
· Using equipment consistent with industry standards.
