Parts Purchasing Specialist

Summary

The Bilingual Purchasing Specialist assists the Procurement Team with assigned projects, issuing and evaluating RFQs, commercial issues and negotiation, cost reduction opportunities, and overall supplier management such as supplying and quality issues. Preference for candidates who can speak Korean fluently. This role will work for the MOBIS Alabama, LLC Savannah Plant.

About Hyundai MOBIS Savannah Plant

MOBIS Alabama, LLC. Savannah Plant, located in Bryan County, Georgia is a Tier 1 supplier to Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA). The Savannah plant was established on October 7, 2022. MOBIS Savannah Plant is a three (3) shift manufacturing operation that assembles the four major modules (Front Chassis, Rear Chassis, Cockpit, Front End) for vehicles produced by HMGMA. Using components from domestic and overseas suppliers, MOBIS Savannah Plant uses state of the art technology to produce the finished products for HMGMA in a just-in-time, just-in-sequence system. Using the cooperative effort of our Team Members, MOBIS Savannah Plant can provide parts for over 1,300 vehicles a day.

Essential Functions(To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)

[Purchasing]

• Establishes new car sourcing plan and leads sourcing events
• Reviews legal documentation such as RFQs, LOIs, Term, and conditions and develops such documentation according to MOBIS Policy, and make contracts with suppliers
• Review, analyze, and clarify quote packages from suppliers
• Create a detailed price breakdown for each product and process it in the system for approval.
• Reviews legal documentation such as RFQs, LOIs, terms, and conditions and develops such documentation according to MOBIS Policy.
• Research potential suppliers and find, develop, and coordinate suppliers as necessary.
• Conducts cost analysis for parts, tooling, and any supplier expenses and negotiates prices with suppliers.

[Project Management]

• Conducts detailed project plans, tactical execution, schedules, and cost estimates for each part of the project.
• Maintains strong relationships with suppliers, internal and external customers, including the Sales Managers, to ensure on-time program deliverables.
• Collects and summarizes documents from suppliers and support HQ, Sales, and Customer requests [Supplier Management]
• Leads suppliers to meet the quality requirement during project and program
• Respond to supply shortages for supplier-related issues.
• Conducts Value engineering for any possible cost savings.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Basic Qualifications (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)

Required Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry-specific experience required
• 3+ years of experience in a Procurement role within a manufacturing/automotive industry
• Working experience with Hyundai / Kia / MOBIS
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial System Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Experienced in automotive assembly/manufacturing
• Korean language skills to communicate with Korean Headquarter

Preferred Experience:

• Strong sense of responsibility
• Detailed knowledge of the Just In Sequence process and system in the Automotive industry
• Intermediate written and verbal communication skills
• Intermediate-level Microsoft Office such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook skill
• Experience in injection, press, welding, paint, and assembly process
