We are looking for a talented Parts Manager to join our team specializing in Service for the Distribution Business Segment in Spartanburg, SC.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Supervises Parts Specialists and/or warehouse staff (within a service branch location).
  • Responsible for supervising a team of Parts Specialists, and or warehouse staff.
  • Provides employee performance feedback, provides opportunities for employee development, and enhances employee career growth.
  • Demonstrate leadership for Parts Capability processes and business results.
  • Manages physical inventory utilizing inventory control methodologies to maintain inventory and meet customer expectations.
  • Ensures that worldwide parts support for customers, original equipment manufacturers, and the distribution Channel is available at first shipment for more complex new product launches.
  • Ensures worldwide parts support for the current product in the field, while interfacing with manufacturing plant facilities, the distribution channel, original equipment manufacturers, end customers, parts distribution centers, joint ventures, purchasing, and internal customers.
  • Ensures that policies and procedures are followed, appropriate productivity is achieved, and that employee questions are answered.
  • Where applicable, visit key customers, as per plan, to understand concerns and develop relationships; analyze customer inquiries to identify recurring user problems, recommend solutions, and identify where order management processes can be improved.
  • Tracks improvements to closure, and communicates progress to customers.
  • Plans, prioritizes, and schedules the team’s activities and resources to ensure continuity of service.
  • Liaises with other functional or operational area managers to ensure that Customer Order Management activities are integrated with other parts of the business and appropriate for current and future departmental needs.
  • Champions positive health and safety behaviors by influencing leaders and employees to create the right environment.
  • Demonstrates how proactive customer support interactions are required at each phase of the order life cycle to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Describes how customer support and the order life cycle are interconnected to ensure an overall positive customer experience.
  • Builds strong customer relationships and delivers customer-centric solutions.
  • Resolves complex parts issues for the team.
  • Helps develop and leads Customer Support Excellence initiatives.

  • Change Management - Applies Cummins's structured process and toolset for engaging individuals and organizations through change to achieve and sustain business results and outcomes.
  • Health and Safety Fundamentals - Champions and models proactive health and safety behaviors by identifying, reporting, and participating in actions to improve health and safety to build an interdependent culture and contribute to an injury-free workplace.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • College or trade-based certification or experience equivalent in a related field.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Job Responsibilities/Experience

  • Availability to travel up to 1/ month to other branches for training as needed.
  • Provides exemplary safety leadership, adheres to the Cummins code of conduct, demonstrates the Cummins Values, and models the Leadership Behaviors on a daily basis.
  • Manages, assigns, and delegates as needed, all parts department tasks to individual team members, constantly evaluating workloads and re-balancing as needed. Determines priority of tasks of direct reports according to department and customer needs.
  • Directly performs the duties of a team member when that member is absent if the duties can not be redistributed among other team members.
  • Executes specific tasks in procurement, quality control, inventory/warehouse management, and vendor payment processes on a regular basis.
  • Reviews performance dashboards and Key Performance Indicators daily and takes prioritized actions including research, delegation, follow-up, and escalation.
  • Leads the parts team in researching and training on new processes and tools, process changes, issue resolution, and issue escalation.
  • Receives and disseminates aftermarket sales promotions to targeted parts team and service team members.
  • Conducts the performance management process with the parts team and all team management administrative duties (e.g. time management, etc.)
  • Familiarity with engine and vehicle part names and physical identification/recognition is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary rate commensurate with experience, range: $74,800 - $112,200 . Please note that the salary range provided is a good-faith estimate of the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage, and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
