The Parts Manager oversees the parts purchasing and parts inventory management at assigned location. Sets initial parts pricing and partners with our local managers and our outside sales team to maximize parts availability, revenue and margins. Leverages vendor relationships to ensure products are of a high quality and meet our customers’ expectations. Ensures all parts are invoiced correctly internally and externally. Core returns and Obsolete inventory.

Team Development and Management:
- Recruit, interview, and hire direct reports.
- Conduct one-on-one performance meetings with direct reports.
- Works with direct reports to establish their annual goals that support the company strategy and are consistent with their role description.
- Conducts and documents annual performance reviews for direct reports.
- Documents performance issues in accordance with company policy.
- Coach and mentor individual staff members to improve individual's capabilities.
- Manages talent and constructs Individual Development Plan.
- Prepares, conducts and documents departmental meetings.
- Makes compensation recommendations for all direct reports.
- Supports Parts Staff Development at assigned locations.
- Participates in the hiring and orientation of assigned location new parts employees as needed.
- Provide backup operational support to assigned locations.
Inventory Management:
- Oversees Parts purchasing and parts inventory management for assigned locations.
- Act as a “Parts Inventory Watch Dog” in identifying opportunities at assigned locations to improve practice and to minimize obsolescence loss to the organization.
- Reviews Inventory obsolescence on a regular basis and initiates activities to reduce obsolesces as needed.
- Provides guidance to assigned locations, to ensure parts inventory and core inventory is highly organized with fast moving parts near point of sale.
- Provides guidance and oversite to ensure inventory is cycle counted in accordance with company policy.
- Manages parts inventory aging and parts inventory investment levels to established departmental and company guidelines.
- Oversee dirty core inventory to ensure cores are organized and returned in a timely manner with proper consideration given to freight expense.
- Provides guidance to assigned locations to manage incoming freight expense and freight recovery income to achieve budget expectations.
- Provides guidance and oversite of all consignment inventory.
- Reviews lost sales with local parts staff periodically to confirm demand history.
- Monitors fill rate data and special order parts to ensure proper stocking parameters.
- Reviews parts purchases from other vendors to determine stocking eligibility.
Business Development and Management:
- Direct support to the Parts Sales team and related initiatives.
- Supports existing and new customer development.
- Develops strong relationships with key customers to maximize account retention and sales penetration.
- Supports Customer training events as scheduled.
- Proactively engages and resolves customer issues involving billing disputes, accounts receivable collection, quality of work issues, and customer service issues.
- Educates staff on vendor-sponsored programs (Diamond connection, Fleet Charge, etc.).
- Participates in development of company marketing plan and promotions (i.e. MyEdge, Special Flyers, etc.).
- Direct Responsibility for the Parts Call Center where applicable.
- Works to grow Call Center utilization where applicable.
- Supports Customer sales with, out-bound-calling program at the Call Center where applicable.
Departmental/Production Management:
- Works with management to establish and maintain parts operations policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of inventory accuracy and accountability.
- Work with parts leadership and local managers to maximize the efficiency of all parts delivery activities.
- Ensure company policies on returning parts ordered in error (OIE) and parts shipped in error (SIE) are followed consistently at all locations.
