Job Title: Youth Basketball Coach (Starting February 2024)

Location: West Lake Hills Area

Salary: Commensurate with experience

About the Organization: 1891 Basketball is committed to providing a positive and enriching basketball experience for young players. Our mission is to develop the skills and character of our players, both on and off the court.

Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Youth Basketball Coach to lead and instruct players in grades 3rd - 8th. The successful candidate will have a strong background in coaching basketball and be able to communicate effectively with players, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute effective practices and games for players in grades 2nd - 8th
• Develop and implement skill-building drills and exercises that challenge and motivate players
• Communicate with players and parents to provide updates on their progress and address any concerns
• Foster a positive and supportive team environment that emphasizes sportsmanship and teamwork
• Maintain accurate records of player attendance, game schedules, and team statistics
• Attend coaching meetings and staff trainings as required

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
• Previous coaching experience at the youth or high school level
• Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals, techniques, and strategies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude
• Ability to work weekends and evenings as needed
