Become a Beyond BookSmart Executive Function Coach

Beyond BookSmart is an Executive Function Coaching organization focusing on helping individuals successfully identify and meet goals meant to elevate and enhance their lives. We are a values-based company looking to hire individuals who share our passion for Executive Function Coaching. The ideal candidate is someone who is enthusiastic about helping clients, primarily through 1:1 coaching, finding solutions to seemingly impossible challenges, is open to new ways of thinking, operates from a growth mindset, communicates effectively and builds relationships through kindness, integrity, and courage.

New coaches will join a team of highly credentialed, dedicated professionals passionate about helping others tap into their potential to meet the challenges of life while setting goals and soaring to new heights. We provide online coaching throughout the United States and around the world. Our clients and coaches come from all walks of life, and we hire individuals from a variety of backgrounds to best meet the needs of our customers. If you share our values and enthusiasm for helping others find strategies to meet their goals and find success, please consider joining our team.

    Requirements

    • Enthusiasm for coaching clients and using Executive Function skills to transform lives
    • Resourceful and have attention to detail
    • Proficiency in communicating complex concepts in simple and sometimes creative ways
    • Ability to build strong relationships with clients, caregivers, and colleagues through live meetings, virtual communications, and documentation of coaching sessions.
    • A schedule that will allow you to consistently meet online with at least five clients per week for 60 minutes each, with brief check-ins between weekly meetings. Coaches will also be expected to meet with client caregivers for an average of 30 minutes a month. You will not immediately be matched with 5 clients but will build a roster over the course of your first 3-6 months of employment.

      • A coach’s availability to be matched with a client is dependent upon their schedule during requested peak times which are generally evenings and weekends. If your schedule is too limited, we will not be able to match you with clients, and your scope for helping individuals to meet their goals will be limited. A good rule of thumb is to have at least 10-15 hours of availability throughout a week and adjust it accordingly as you are matched with clients.
      • Clear and timely communication is essential for our clients and our company to run smoothly. In addition to the time spent in coaching sessions, our coaches follow up with clients between coaching sessions by text or email and maintain client notes on an online portal for all coaching sessions conducted. Additionally, as a virtual company, we rely on email as our primary communication method. Coaches must be able to check email daily and display a high level of competence for clear and professional virtual communication.
    • A Master’s Degree in Education or a related field applicable to Executive Function skill building is required
    • We are looking for seasoned professionals with at least three years of rich and diverse experience working with individuals with Executive Function deficits
    • We are especially looking for coaches who have experience in at least one of the following:

      • Experience supporting K-12 and college students
      • Experience teaching at online schools/virtually
      • Experience supporting business executives
      • Experience supporting career development and transitions
    • We value candidates who have experience working one-to-one with individuals, preferably as a special education teacher, speech and language pathologist, school psychologist, counselor, general education teacher, or in higher education, with experience with individuals with ADHD and other learning challenges.
    • Coaches are evaluated on the following core competencies: Executive Function Skill Development/Fandom, Written Communication, Active Listening, Facilitation, Productive Relationships, Problem Solving, Resourcefulness, and Flexibility.
    • Coaches must be comfortable with technology, including Gmail and Google WorkSpace (especially Drive, Docs, and Sheets, GCalendar), an online database to track student progress, various study websites, apps, and web conference platforms, specifically Google Meet.
    • Must have a quiet, dedicated workspace clear of disruptions for client, training, and internal professional meetings/sessions, with an internet connection stable enough for video conferencing (mbps over 40).
    • All Executive Function Coaches will be required to use their cell phones for client communication, phone calls, and texting.
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States of America. Visa sponsorship is not available for candidates living outside the country of this position.
    • Hiring Process

For consideration, please fill out our application for employment. You will also need to provide a resume/CV, a cover letter, and a short video introducing yourself to the hiring team. Candidates who meet our criteria will be contacted via email and invited to a video conference preliminary interview. Candidates who advance in the hiring process will be invited to review a short module about the Beyond BookSmart approach to coaching and participate in a final interview conducted through a web conferencing platform. Before being offered a position, candidates will have a short meeting with a member of the Coach Development Team.

Once offered the position, coaches will be required to fill out employment paperwork, including providing a certificate of completion for mandatory reporter training. BBS will conduct background and reference checks. All candidates will be required to obtain a notarized I-9 document upon a final offer letter of employment.

All coaches are required to attend all preliminary training and pass subsequent assessments to be officially hired and serve as a coach with Beyond BookSmart.
