Part-Time Toll Collector – New Jersey Turnpike Roadway

The New Jersey Turnpike Authority currently has availability for Part -Time Toll Collectors at many interchanges along the Turnpike.

This position is 16 hours a week, working 8-hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays. The shift times are based on a rotating shift schedule which includes 10:30 pm – 6:30 am, 6:30 am - 2:30 pm, and 2:30 pm – 10:30 pm. Each time slot is on a first come first serve basis.

As per the New Jersey First Act, you must be a resident of New Jersey to work for the New Jersey Turnpike Authority.

Qualified applicants must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED and have a valid New Jersey Driver’s License. You must have your own personal vehicle to drive to and from work as you may be moved within a 50-mile radius of your home base interchange.

Responsibilities:

• Collect and classify tolls (currency, tickets, and other) from patrons.
• Account for personally collected or assigned funds.
• Maintain good public relations with patrons.
• Maintain assigned property owned by the New Jersey Turnpike Authority.
• Perform all other functions and tasks as described by the Toll Collector's Manual or as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess a New Jersey Driver's License and have access to reliable transportation.
• Must be a resident of New Jersey.

Please Note: The job duties of the position above require a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle to move within a fifty (50) mile radius when on duty. If hired, I understand and agree to maintain a valid driver’s license and report to/from work in a reliable vehicle should I be required to move within the field as directed by management.
